meet the coach - Ken Gonyer

 Hidden Springs Coaching
Coach
A trained and experienced leadership and life coach, Ken is a member of the International Association of Coaching and writes a leadership coaching blog at ken.hiddenspringscoaching.com.

Ken's inspiration to become a leadership coach was a little book by Bobb Biehl called “Asking to Win – One Hundred Profound Questions.” In it, Bobb talked about how asking great questions helps “to unlock information, insight, and wisdom from within a friend.” He showed how questions can open doors to inner motivation and dreams that no one has ever been able to unlock.

Ken firmly believes that the answers to life’s challenges – the real motivations for lasting change – don’t come from great advice. They come from within. As a coach, Ken's job is to serve men and women by believing in them and helping them to tap into the hidden springs of potential within them.

Educator and Trainer
An enthusiastic and creative teacher, Ken has been a college-level instructor, written curriculum for a year-long adult education series, developed a comprehensive, module-based staff training program, and led regional workshops. He has presented numerous seminars on topics including communication skills, assertiveness, member service, coaching for supervisors, public speaking and personal finance. He is a certified financial counselor and a frequent participant in financial management classes.

Speaker
An award-winning speaker, Ken has served in leadership roles with Toastmasters International, both at the local and regional levels. He’s been well-received as a guest speaker for a variety of civic organizations, churches and non-profits.

Leader
Ken has more than 20 years of experience in executive-level management and administration. In addition to serving in his own leadership roles, he is committed to investing in future leaders. In 2010, he coordinated Youth Leadership Programs for students at the middle school and high school level.

Writer
Ken has published articles in national media, both print and electronic. He served for two years as contributing editor and feature writer for an educational journal. In addition, he has edited a handful of books for a national religious publisher. Recently, Ken wrote and co-produced a customer service training video and handbook.
